The Duncan Lewis Housing Team provides guidance for landlords and tenants on all housing issues. We are highly experienced at finding solutions to your housing issues and aim to address cases quickly and effectively.

The Housing Department at Duncan Lewis has solicitors who are capable of dealing with the most complex of situations as well as more straight forward cases.

Duncan Lewis solicitors act in connection with all issues that arise between Landlords and Tenants, which can include defending claims for disrepair, defending unlawful eviction claims, responding to Notices seeking Possession, dealing with unfair contract terms and obtaining injunctions.

The Solicitors at Duncan Lewis also deal with all types of possession proceedings, including seeking or defending claims based on non-payment of rent including those which are linked with the non-payment of Housing Benefit. We can advise on issues relating to security of tenure, squatters rights and adverse possession claims and also possession claims that arise from disputes relating to service charge contributions.

Duncan Lewis Solicitors advise clients about their rights in respect of housing allocation or transfer by the Local Authority. This includes dealing with issues relating to over crowding, seeking allocation of permanent accommodation and enhancing living conditions.

The Company also acts for clients who have problems connected to homelessness, including seeking reviews of Local Authority decisions, obtaining temporary accommodation pending an application to the County Court. We also act in Judicial Review cases to secure temporary accommodation in the most difficult cases.
